Kumasi based Highlife star, Pat Thomas and the Kwame Yeboah and Ben Abarbanel-Wolff-led group Kwashibu Area Band have released a new Highlife single titled “Gyae Su” which comes off their self-titled "LP Pat Thomas & Kwashibu Area Band" album.

Pat Thomas & Kwashibu Area Band - Gyae Su
Award-winning Highlife artiste, Pat Thomas has teamed up with Kwashibu Area Band to release a new Highlife single titled “Gyae Su” which comes off their self-titled "LP Pat Thomas & Kwashibu Area Band" album.

"Gyae Su" is a rearrangement of an older song, with a guitar concept typical of the classic Kwa or Kumasi bands and an overall tropical style. Ebo Taylor’s horn arrangements evoke the classic Afro-funk vibe that he originally made famous.
The lyrics are as catchy as they are plaintive, with Thomas comforting the listener, “Don’t cry! Life has its ups and downs. Just take it easy and don’t shed any tears.”
The "Pat Thomas & Kwashibu Area Band," will be out on June 15th, 2015. Listen to the song below.
