Reggae/Dancehall musician Shatta Wale, has said he won’t submit any of his work for the 2017 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

The 31-year-old disclosed this during an interview with Delay on ‘The Delay Show’.

“I will not submit my works for (2017) Vodafone Ghana Music Awards,” said Shatta Wale. “They [Charterhouse] rejected my submission last year so I won’t submit next year,” he added.

When asked if he would obey his fans should they ask him to submit just like they did last year, the “Dancehall King” hitmaker said he won’t hesitate.

“If my fans ask me to submit, why not? ” he said adding that “my fans are my God so I will listen to their advice.”

Shatta Wale has been slapped with an indefinite ban from Ghana Music Awards by Charterhouse Ghana, the organisers of the annual awards scheme.

Two years ago, the "Kakai" hitmaker warned the organisers against nominating any of his works. On the night of the show last year, he headlined a concert at Shatta Beach, supported by Sarkodie, who also had his own issues with Charterhouse.

Even though Shatta Wale had a good year in 2015, the organisers turned down his submission for the recently held awards ceremony.

Shatta Wale’s disagreement with Charterhouse started when he lost out on a Dancehall category award to Kaakie in 2013. He insulted both the company and Kaakie, later recording a song in which he claimed he didn’t need any award.

He also recorded videos in which he called Charterhouse and its CEO names, leading to the former being sued.

Months down the line, he apologised to Charterhouse, its CEO, and rival Samini after the birth of his son asking they start their relationships altogether and on a ‘fresh’ page.
