Stonebwoy, Don Jazzy, Di’ja and Korede Bello profile has been unveiled ahead of the 5th edition of Tigo Ghana Meets Naija.

Music lovers are yet to experience the best of music performers come 23 May at the Accra International Conference Centre. The biggest musical concert on the event’s calendar, Tigo Ghana Meets Naija in its fifth year, returns with an even bigger and more exciting package for music fans in both Ghana and Nigeria.

The 5th edition under the theme: “Unleashing Unlimited Music” will feature performances from Ghana’s triple threat Sarkodie, Shatta Wale and Bhim nation’s finest Stoneboy. Also coming in from Nigeria will be the 7-man army Mavins, who will be making their first appearance on a Ghanaian stage and will be expected to thrill with their numerous hits including “Adaobi and Dorobucci” which is currently a dance staple.

DON JAZZY

Michael Collins Ajereh but best known in the music industry as Don Jazzy was born on 26 November at Umuahia in Abia state. He is a Nigerian Multi award-winning record producer, singer-songwriter, musician, former CEO of Nigerian record label Mo’ Hits Records and current CEO of the Mavin Records label.

Don Jazzy’s first signing was D’banj who was at that time also the Vice-President of Mo’ Hits Records. His first full credit production work was in 2004 on Tongolo for Nigerian singer D’banj. He went on to produce D’banj’s first studio album titled No Long Thing released in 2005.

He has produced tracks for Dr SID, Wande Coal, D’Prince, Darey, Naeto C, Olakunle Excel et Zanga, Sauce Kid, Ikechukwu & Tiwa Savage. He also collaborated with Jay-Z and Kanye West on the production of Lift Off, featuring Beyoncé on the album Watch The Throne, released on 8 August 2011.

He recently was rated as the 36th “Most powerful celebrity in Africa” according to Forbes.

STONEBWOY

Ghanaian Afropop, dancehall and reggae artiste Livingstone Etse Satekla best known as Stonebwoy is the reigning Ghanaian Artist of the Year and the CEO of Burniton Music Group.

He began performing as Stonebwoy since high school as an underground rapper. The Baafira hitmaker who appeared on a popular rap competition “Kasahare Level” on Adom FM which featured Sarkodie, Dr Cryme and the like saw him knocking out several other rappers gaining himself underground popularity. It was through these rap battles and his style of music which caught the eye of Samini to sign him to his “Samini Music” record label.

Under “Samini Music”, Stonebwoy recorded his first hit single “Climax” featuring Samini and subsequently “Ghetto Love” featuring Irene Logan. Both songs earned him nominations at the Ghana Music Awards. After this exposure, he released his debut album “Grade 1 Album” under his Burniton Music Group Label and made Stonebwoy a household name in the music industry.

In 2015, he received many awards and nominations ranging from “Artist of the Year“, “Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year”, “Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year” to “Album of the Year”.

Stonebwoy is best remembered for hit songs like “Wickedness”, “Onumade”, “No Sir”, “Pull Up” and many others.

KOREDE BELLO

Korede Bello staged named ‘African Prince’ is a 19-year-old guitarist, singer, songwriter, composer and a student of Mass Communication at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism. He hails from Lagos state, Nigeria.

At age 7, he began performing on stages and entered his school talent competition at the age of 13, and placed first taking on singing and performing as a career path, he began performing at local venues and began growing a following.

In February 28 2014, he was discovered and signed a recording and distribution deal with Mavin Records. His first single, “African Princess”, was a country hit and then his first collaboration with label mates “Dorobucci” became a continent hit and was certified Platinum in Youtube views (Famously known for the “Korede Bello Wink”).

He is an Africa Peace and Meljenstin Youth Ambassador.

DI’JA

Hadiza Blell, better known by her stage name Di’Ja, is a Sierra Leonean -Nigerian singer, visual artist, fashion designer and songwriter. She is currently signed to Mavin Records. In 2009, she released her first single “Rock Steady” which was nominated for Best Urban/R&B Single at the 2009 Canadian Radio Music Awards. Moreover, she won the Best New Artist award at the 2008 Beat Music Awards.

At a young age, Di’Ja committed herself to academia and earned a double degree in Biology and Psychology. Her music career started in 2008. In 2012, Di’Ja released several singles including “Dan’ Iska (Rudebwoy)”, “Hold On (Ba Damuwa)” and “How Can We Be Friends”.

On February 14, 2015, Don Jazzy announced the addition of Di’Ja to Mavin Records. Her first official single under Mavin Records was also released on February 14, 2014. The song, which is titled “Yaro”, is an up-tempo celebration of love and commitment against all odds. It infuses Hausa and Krio dialects in honour of her Nigerian and Sierra Leonean roots.

In May 2014, Di’Ja was featured on “Dorobucci” alongside label mates Don Jazzy, Dr. SID, Tiwa Savage, D’Prince, Korede Bello and Reekado Banks.
