Welcome to Pulse Music’s 5th 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Poll. As usual, we analyse and review each category for you to decide which artiste or artwork deserves an award at the 16th edition of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Our next category is the “Album Of The Year.” And the nominees are “Wiyaala” by Wiyaala, “Books & Rhymes” by Edem, “Necessary Evil” by Stonebwoy, “Re-Vee-Lation” by MzVee, and “I’m Grateful” by Selina Boateng.

The “Album Of The Year” as defined by the board is adjudged by the Academy and Board as the most outstanding compilation of hit songs on an album that was released during the year under review. It MUST have generated the most excitement during the year.

Wiyaala’s self-titled 13-track debut album which was released in November last year at Alliance Française has hit singles like “Go Black Stars Goal,” “Tinambaynyi,” “Make Me Dance” and others. Under the year in review, she won two international awards – "The Most Promising Artiste in Africa" and "The Revelation of the African Continent" at All Africa Music Awards.

Edem bagged GHc110,000.00 within 24 hours just after he launched his much-anticipated album “Book & Rhymes.” The album which has 25 songs in total also has  hit songs which include “The One” remix featuring Sway, “Delaila” featuring M.I Abaga, “Wikid and Bad” featuring Coded (4x4), “Go Harder” featuring Stonebwoy, “Here We Go,” “Go Gaga,” and  “Zero To Hero.” Under the year in review, he bagged 3 awards at 4syte TV Music Video Awards with hit tracks off his 3rd studio album.

Stonebwoy’s second studio album “Necessary Evil” which has 29 tracks also has hit singles like “Can’t Cool”, “Murderer” featuring Cara Biara, “Not Again,” “Pull Up” remix featuring Patoranking and the ultimate “Baafira” featuring Sarkodie. He has performed on many stages under the year in review.

Lynx Entertainment’s self-acclaimed Dancehall Queen, MzVee had a good year under the year in review. Her debut album “Re-Vee-Lation” has 14 tracks in total. She had hit songs like “Dancehall Queen” featuring Shatta Wale, “Borkor Borkor” featuring Lazy (VVIP), “My Everything” featuring Shatta Wale and “Natural Girl” featuring Stonebwoy off her revelation album. She won the “Discovery Of The Year” award at the 2014 4syte TV Music Video Awards and was also adjudged “Best Female Vocal Artiste’ at BASS Awards 2014.

Prolific gospel singer, Selina Boateng made an impressive comeback in 2014 with her 10-track album “I’m Grateful.” Her hit single “Alpha & Omega” which features Uncle Ato off her album has enjoyed massive airplay under the year in review. Ever since the fast rising gospel music artiste known for popular songs such as ‘Minku Meho’ and ‘Medofo Pa’ joined the gospel music industry, she has been recognized as a great singer whose inspiring songs have had a progressive impact on the gospel music industry in Ghana.
