The leading member of Occupy Ghana declared his intentions to unseat Hannah Tetteh when given the nod by delegates in the NPP primaries.
He will face a stiff challenge from incumbent MP Hannah Serwaa Tetteh who doubles as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
According to Hanna Tetteh, “The NPP was going to have a candidate anyway and was going to try as much as possible to get the best possible candidate to contest for the seat.”
“That is the nature of politics so that is nothing unusual as far as I am concerned” she added.
She said, the NPP will by all means get a candidate. I've been in the business for a while and what is needed is to focus on the constituency adding that the constituency will make decisions on her performance.
“I have been in this business for a while. The election is not about me and neither is about George Andah. It is about the people of Awutu Senya West and the choices they make. And so for me, it is focusing on the constituents and making sure that, as far as I am concerned, they are in the position to make an assessment of my performance and take their decision on that basis”.
“But I have a good organization within the constituency and I think they do a great job.”
“This is first about the NDC and the people of Awutu Senya West to indoors me as their candidate and I don’t take that for granted. I hope they will but, I don’t take it for granted. But knowing that I make as much efforts to deal with,” she said.
