26 WASSCE candidates involved in accident in Techiman

The candidates , who are students of Offuman Senior High School were being conveyed to the examination center when their vehicle's brake failed, forcing the driver to lose control of the bus, which somersaulted several times.

At least 26 students who are taking part in the ongoing West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) narrowly escaped death when their vehicle got involved in an accident at Techiman Thursday morning, April 7.

Many of the students sustained various degrees of injuries and were taken to the Holy Family Hospital, not far from the accident scene.

Deputy Education Minister responsible for Basic Education, Mr. Alex kyeremeh who happened to be touring the District, visited the hospital and paid the medical bills of the victims.

Special aide to the Deputy Minister, Mr. Kwesi Frimpong told atinkaonline that although all the students have been discharged, the bus driver is still at the intensive care unit receiving treatment as he is in critical condition.
