Six strange facts about the Big Six

From nicknames to cultural achievements, here's some facts you may not know about Ghana's Big Six.

 

J.B Danquah was the first continental African to receive a doctorate in law from the University of London and also wrote a play titled "The Third Woman".

Kwame Nkrumah was born on a Saturday but went to school in the United States under the name Francis Kofi Nwia Nkrumah.

Ebenezer Ako-Adjei played a role in the establishment of the Gold Coast Broadcasting Service, later named the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation.

Emmanuel Obetsebi-Lamptey was nicknamed "Liberty Lamptey".

Edward Akufo-Addo sat on the treason trial of his fellow "Big Six" member, Ako-Adjei for his alleged involvement in the Kulungugu bomb attack.
