The Aboakyer festival is one of the popular and memorable festivals in the country which is celebrated by the Effutus in Winneba in the Central Region.
Nana Kojo Beedu, the Chairman of the Aboakyer Board, had earlier indicated that the festival will be climaxed with a durbar of Chiefs and people as well as visitors to the event.
He said on the dawn of that day, the two Asafo companies- Dentsifo and Tuafo, would go to the bush in a contest to capture a live deer.
The first animal to be brought at the durbar grounds by any of the Asafo companies would be used to perform traditional rites towards the growth and development of the traditional area, he added.
Activities outlined for this year's event include Tug of war, Competition for Miss Aboakyer, regatta, musical shows, among others.
