Pray For The Black Stars – Prez Mahama Appeals

President John Mahama has appealed to the nation to pray for the Black Stars to win its 5th Africa Cup of Nations.

After thirty three years of an African Cup drought, the Black Stars are yet to be crowned African Champions once again as they lock horns with the Elephants of La Cote D’Ivoire.

The Black Stars sailed to the grand finale after thrashing Equatorial Guinea 3-0 with goals from Jordan Ayew, Mubarak Wakasu and Dede Ayew.

As Ghana prepares to test the Elephants, Ghana’s President, John Mahama has called on Ghanaians to pray for the Black Stars in order to enable them emerge winners.

“All of us had our hearts gladdened by a sterling performance of the Ghana Black Stars in Equatorial Guinea in their match against the host nation.

“We continue to pray and hope that the Black Stars will do us proud and for the fifth time in history bring the African Cup home," the President said.

The President urged all to hope, pray and support the Stars to do the country proud.

He said it is time Ghana wins its 5th AFCON trophy.

Cote d'Ivoire won its first championship, beating Ghana on penalty kicks 11−10 after a goalless draw.
