The recent happenings and wrangling in the opposition New Patriotic Party does not seem to be simmering down following calls of some party stalwarts for calm and unity in the party.

A hurriedly held meeting sanctioned by the Regional Chairman, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wuntumi to initiate the impeachment process of the National chairman of the party, Paul Afoko and General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong was unanimously rejected by the constituency Chairmen of the party.

The chairmen walked out protesting against such a baseless action. Amidst shouts of disagreement, they quizzed the motive behind the impeachment of the duo.

Former Chairman of Ashanti Region of NPP and currently 3rd Vice Chairman in an interview with Peace FM disapproved of the move and congratulated the constituency executives for vehemently rejecting this plan. He called on the party to work at uniting themselves rather than engaging in divisive attempts to further deepen the cracks in the party.

With this rejection in the party's stronghold, other regions like Greater Accra, Brong Ahafo, Northern, Eastern have joined in singing the same tune.
