The president of IMANI Ghana said the duo are noted for attacking "decent" people in the country, urging the Supreme Court to "lock them" and let them "rot" in jail.

“You don’t pamper people like this, because these guys sit on radio, they’ve not done it to just one person, they’ve done it to several decent people in this country and we’ve got to deal with them. I say, lock them, put them to jail, let them rot, I don’t care,” Franklin Cudjoe said on Citi FM’s current affairs programme, "The Big Issue."

The two panelists – Ako Gunn and Alister Nelson – threatened to harm the Supreme Court judges who sat on the case involving Abu Ramadan and Electoral commission on Accra based Montie FM.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday July 5 cited owners of Montie FM, the two panelists and the host of the daily political show for contempt.

Management of the radio station issued a statement apologising to the Chief Justice and the Supreme Court for allowing its airwaves to be used by the two radio panelists to threaten the lives of justices of the court.

On Friday, the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) described the embattled radio panelists as harmless who are incapable of carrying out the harm.

“At the interrogation, the two suspects admitted making those statements and acknowledged that their remarks were regrettable and unfortunate. Further checks by the BNI have however established that the suspects were incapable of carrying out pronouncements but did so in a show of needless bravado,” a statement from the BNI said.

Franklin Cudjoe savaged the BNI's investigations on the errant radio commentators, saying "it makes mockery of the entire process."

He said:“In Rwanda those guys who made the comments were not even involved in the killing. People who took the advice from such irresponsible and despicable commentary, actually went ahead and killed the cockroaches and we sit here and we are suggesting that some people have the ability to determine the guys cannot carry this out when we’ve had incidents of judges being killed in this same town.

In fact the BNI should have kept the comments to themselves if indeed they were conducting investigations and they hadn’t finished because it makes a mockery of the entire process."
