Pupil prevented from writing exams due to overgrown hair

A pupil of the Ketan Methodist JHS in Sekondi has been prevented from writing her papers

A final year pupil of the Ketan Methodist Junior High school in Sekondi in the Western region has been prevented from writing her papers in the ongoing Basic Education Certification Examinations (BECE) due to bushy hair.

The confidence of Mabel Jaspa was completely shattered who had turned up Monday morning to write the examination was asked to return home by the headmistress of the school who has been identified only as Madam Belinda.

Her mother, who spoke to the media said the family will resort to all necessary means to exact justice for their ward.

It would be recalled that some eight students of the St. Johns Grammar Senior High School, in Achimota, were prevented from writing their papers in the ongoing West Africa Senior Secondary Certification Examinations. Read more
