President Mahama inaugurates recreational park in Kumasi

President John Mahama and the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on Friday jointly commissioned a recreational facility in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi.

The park, an initiative of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), was named after Captain Robert Rattray, a Scottish who was the Assistant Colonial Secretary in the Gold Coast and clerk to the Legislative Assembly of Accra in 1919.

The recreational facility known as ‘The Rattray Park, Kumasi City” forms part of efforts to green Kumasi and restore it to its past glory as the Garden City of West Africa.
