An apology was issued on air - Corporate HR Manager at Multimedia

The HR said although he had not heard the apology, the programs manager, Mark Okereku Mantey apologized on Adom FM on behalf of Multimedia, owners of Hitz FM and Adom FM.

George Imbeah, Corporate Human Resource (HR) Manager at Multimedia says he believes the programmes manager of Hitz FM went on air to apologize for comments made by radio presenter, Blakk Rasta which seemed to suggest that about 80% of Ghanaian parliamentarians smoke “wee”.

The HR who was representing the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Multimedia, Kwasi Twum said although he had not heard the apology, the programs manager, Mark Okereku Mantey apologized on Adom FM on behalf of Multimedia, owners of Hitz FM and Adom FM.

“I believe that the programs manager went on air to apologize for what had been said. The programs manager apologized on adom FM on behalf of Multedia. I haven't heard the apology myself,” he said when he appeared before the Privileges Committee of Parliament on Thursday.

Blakk Rasta is before the Privileges Committee of Parliament for some comments he made that suggested 80% of Ghanaian parliamentarians smoke “Wee”.

Publications on a number of websites quoted the host of Hitz FM’s show to have said that, “There are about 80% of parliamentarians who smoke weed so why do people think those who smoke marijuana go mad.”

Blakk Rasta is appearing as a witness before the committee to assist in investigation of contemptuous remarks allegedly made on his show. According to the Privileges Committee, it is not a trial but a fact-finding mission.
