Ashfoam depot in Achimota catches fire; almost burnt down to nothing [PHOTOS]

Information reaching Pulse.com.gh, has it that a warehouse of mattress producers in Ghana, Ashfoam, just caught fire in Achimota.

According to eyewitness reports, the Ghana National Fire Service took almost two hours to get to the location of the fire, thus a lot of damage had be done to the goods being stored before they started fighting the flames.

Locals, however, did try to put out the fire, using sachets of filtered water, sand and what-not but could not overcome the raging flames that had engulfed the building.

12:48PM: The cause of the fire is yet to be determined by the GNFS, but eyewitnesses suggest an electrical malfunction may have started the fire.

12:54PM: Eyewitnesses claim the fire is spreading to a shell filling station which is closer to the Achimota New Station. Workers of the shell showroom have subsequently taken out all items from the shop.
