Police not interested in finding culprits

Two men were lynched in a village near Berekum for stealing a television decoder

The Brong Ahafo Police Command has indicated that it will not pursue the case where two young men were lynched in Baidan near Berekum in the Brong Ahafo region.

Some young boys who saw the victims holding the decoders drew the attention of neighbours who lynched the men.

Speaking to Pulse.com.gh, Public Relations Officer of the Brong Ahafo Regional Police Command ASP Christopher Tawiah said “because it was a mob action we are unable to arrest anyone”

He explained that “the police were called to the scene by the assembly man of the area, and when we got there the perpetrators had left, it was just the two thieves”.

He also said bodies of the deceased are yet to be identified.
