Akomea produces document to show $13m approved for veep's house; $8m paid
The document showed that $8 million has been paid to the contractor leaving an outstanding debt of $5 million.

The production of the documents follows denials from officials of the former administration that the building cost was $5.1 million and not $13 million.
The document contained the architectural designs and cost of the facility.
The disclosure on the cost of the building was first made by Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia who questioned the propriety of the expenditure.
He said the residence was sole-sourced. He noted that in his view he did not believe it when he was told the price for the house, which, was "most likely sole-sourced" by the erstwhile administration.

"Very importantly, we want to ensure the strict enforcement of the Public Procurement Act, Act 663; it is an Act that in my opinion and in the opinion of many, has really been abused recently, the resort to sole-sourcing of contracts has been more the rule rather than the exception," he said.
