Curfew hours reviewed

This was contained in a statement signed by Deputy Interior Minister, James Agalga.

“Government continues to urge chiefs and opinion Youth and People of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them and to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area,” the statement said.

The statement added that a total ban on all persons in the Bunkpurugu Township and surrounding areas from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapon remains in place, adding that “Any person found with any arms or ammunition would be arrested and prosecuted”.

Numerous deaths have been recorded between Jamong and Jafog clans in the Bunkprugu traditional area for decades.
