Seidu Kotomah appointed new Accountant General

The president has appointed Seidu Kotomah as new boss of the Controller and Accountant General's department.

 

This follows the appointment of the Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Abdul- Nashiru Issahaku on Monday as governor of the Bank of Ghana, replacing Dr.  Henry Kofi Wampah. Dr. Issahaku was appointed above the first deputy governor Millison Narh.

With the appointment of Seidu Kotomah as new Accountant General, it is unclear what will happen to the current Controller, Grace Francisca Adzrone.

Prior to his appointment to the current position, he held a number of significant positions including the Director of the Ghana Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS), Head of Payroll, Director of Internal Audit and Investigation and Head of Main Accounts.He has also served as Treasury Officer in Washington DC and Assistant Treasury Officer in London. He was employed by the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) in September 1989.He brings to the position a rich wealth of experience in Public Sector Accounting spanning over 21 years Mr. Kotomah is a Chartered Accountant by profession.He also holds an MBA from Middlesex University, London and BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Ghana. He also undertook an ACCA course at Financial Training Company in London, United Kingdom.
