Oil revenue should be committed to Education, Health and Roads-Dr. Sakodie

Though 60 per cent of the petroleum revenue goes to ABFA, Dr. Adu Sakodie more should be allocated to the Ghana Infrastructure fund which is geared towards the provision of critical infrastructure like education, roads and health.

Economist, Dr. Adu Sakodie has charged government to dedicate all petroleum revenue to priority projects aimed at addressing Ghana's infrastructural deficits.

The economist does not understand why the country will commit money into a heritage fund which is essentially funds committed for the next generation,and a stabilisation fund which is essential dedicated to budget support.

Speaking to Host of Radio Univers' business analysis program, Business Trendz, Emmanuel Quist, Dr. Sakodie said

There have been public concerns over dwindiling international oil prices which have caused a 60 per cent in projected oil revenues. This has ensured that the Ghanaian government did not allocated funds to the heritage and stabilisation funds as stipulated by the Petroleum Revenues Manangement Act.

Dr. Adu Sakodie says that must not be ans issue of concern.
