E-commerce in Ghana faces a challenging future in terms of cyber security risks. A lot of issues have emerged in a recent research conducted by the e-Crime Bureau team on effects of e-crime & cybercrime on e-commerce development in Ghana. Amongst them include the following:

1. Attacks on e-banking systems of financial institutions2. Inadequate security of e-banking applications, systems and network leading to huge financial losses by financial institutions. 3. Data Protection Issues affecting Clients - Malware, phishing and keylogger attacks are being used by criminals have increased cases of interception of tokens on e-money platforms, compromise of access pin/password/code by criminals, account information, personal data, etc. on e-commerce platforms. 4. Lack of compliance of website & software developers to cyber security standards and regulations

At the second Ghana eCommerce conference taking place alongside the Expo, leading cyber security expert, AlbertAntwi-Bosiako will present the paper "The Growing Impact of Cyber Crime and Trade Development in Ghana".

His presentation will practically expose conference delegates to the current state of e-crime and cybercrime threatening the e-commerce industry in Ghana and also highlight cyber security solutions and countermeasures to show website/software developers, operators and managers of e-commerce/e-payment systems, product developers, etc, how to address these attacks to stay one-step ahead of these criminals.
