Gumani, Asawaba, Sagnarigu-Kukuo and Jisonayili in the Tamale Metropolis are the hardest hit communities.

The rain destroyed crops planted by the farmers, and roads rendered unmotorable.

No deaths were recorded, but media reports say hundreds have been made homeless.

According to Kumasi-based Ultimate FM, health personnel are unable to travel to district capitals especially in parts of the Upper East region to cart drugs to the affected communities to provide healthcare to residents.

The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) is yet to respond to the plight of the affected communities.
