BOG maintains Monetary Policy Rate at 26%

This was after the  Bank of Ghana concluded their 68th regular Monetary Policy Meeting, and concluded that the rate is better of maintained.

BOG maintains Monetary Policy Rate at 26%

The Bank of Ghana has maintained the country's Monetary Policy Rate at 26%.

The governor of the Bank of Ghana took into cognisance the latest inflation rate of 17.7% up marginally from 17.6% at November and 17.4 in October.

PAC raises alarm over Health Ministry's GHC1.4million expenditure on condom

The Public Accounts Committee has raised alarm about the one million Ghana Cedi expenditure made by the Ministry of Health in the purchase of condoms.

This was under a program put together by the Ministry to control the spread of HIV- Aids.

The chairman of the  Public Accounts Committee, however, did not understand why the ministry will spend such high amounts of money on what they described as people's pleasure.

ALUWORKS LTD and Ghana Oil Company Limited were the biggest losers of the day, dropping 1p to close at 0.07p, and 1p to close at 1.44p respectively.., whereas UT Bank and Cal Bank recorded the biggest gains, gaining 1p  to close at 0.11 and 1p to close at 1.05p respectively.
