The prices of root tubers top the food inflation charts for the third week in April, with Cassava seeing the biggest margins of increase.

Farmers have blamed this on current weather conditions and the time of the year. According to them, tubers are usually out of season at this time of the year, leading to relative scarcity on the market hence the escalation in prices.

Power crisis resolved, economy to grow at 4% - Prez Mahama

President John Mahama said yesterday in a broadcast that Ghana's power crisis has been resolved, adding that he expects the economy to grow about four percent.

He told state owned Sunrise FM in the Eastern region that the economy was more resilient today than it was in the past.

According to him, the shutdwon of the FPSO Kwame Nkrumah will not affect power supply. He added that additional measures have been rolled out to fire most of the power plants using crude oil.
