We are yet to take a decision on towing levy – Transport Minister
The Transport Minister, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah said that “no decision has been taken yet on the commencement of the towing services.”
This was contained in a statement issued by the sector Minister, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah.
He said that “no decision has been taken yet on the commencement of the towing services.”
“The Ministry is engaged in consultations with various stakeholders including the Parliamentary Select Committee on Roads and Transport whose recommendations have just been received by the Ministry.”
His comments follow the public backlash after the media reported that the Parliamentary committee after perusing the details of the proposal supported the initiative.
Most people described it as another means of ripping Ghanaians off.
However, the Minister said the final decision has not been taken.
He promised that all concerns raised will be considered before arriving at a final decision.
“The views of all stakeholders will be considered for an informed decision to be made on the matter.”
“Thereafter, the Ministry’s decision will be communicated to the general public,” he concluded.
