The leader of the Progressive Nationalists Forum (PNF), Richard Nyamah has urged President Mahama to speedily publish details of the report of the committee set up by the Chief Justice to investigate allegations of corruption against former Commissioner for Human Rights and Administrative Justice, Lauretta Vivian Lamptey.

President Mahama on Wednesday, removed the Commissioner for Human Rights and Administrative Justice, Lauretta Vivian Lamptey from office.

Richard Nyamah had earlier petitioned the President to initiate processes to remove the CHRAJ boss for spending about $180,000 on rent.

Speaking to pulse.com.gh, Richard Nyamah said the removal of the CHRAJ boss "is good news in the fight against corruption. I would rather the government publishes the entire report so we know the full details of the recommendations. Are the recommendations asking for any structural managerial change in CHRAJ? How do we ensure that next time this doesn't happen again?"

He added "the letter dismissing her is just the icing on the cake. But the cake itself is there. We would urge the president to publicize the report so we know what is in it and then we can follow up."

The leader of the Progressive Nationalists Forum, however, called on Ghanaians not to rely on government alone to fight corruption.

"Most of the time government and its functionaries are the direct beneficiaries. And so the various committees of enquiries that the government has set up over the years; what has happened? Nothing. If we as individuals, institutions, decide to take the fight to government, they will sit up.

He further believed that "if we have people coming on board and doing the best they can also do it will let anyone in position of trust begin to look over their shoulders when they are trying to misbehave."

In January, 2015 the Commissioner was suspended by Mahama following the establishment of a prima facie case against her by the Chief Justice.

Ms Lamptey was accused of spending about 200,000 dollars on rent at the AU Village and about 180, 000 cedis on the renovation of her official residence

Meanwhile, an official statement on her removal from office is expected to be released on Thursday.
