I would have asked for a more rewarding job if I had sex with John Mahama

According to Mrs Osei, there are more rewarding jobs she would have obtained using sexual favours.

The former head of the National Commission of Civic Education stated emphatically that she would have opted for a less stressful job if indeed she traded sex for her job.

Speaking as a co-host of Joy FM's Super Morning Show on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 as part of International Women's Day celebrations, the EC boss who said she does not think women are their own enemy explained claims that she traded sex for her role in charge of the Electoral Commission.

"I won't let what someone who doesn't know me says get to me especially if they say I used sex to get a job," Mrs Charlotte Osei said.

“If I'd use sex, there are more rewarding and less stressful jobs I'd rather use the sexual favours for,” she said.

The Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, last year launched a scathing attack on Charlotte Osei, accusing her of getting her EC appointment in exchange for sex.

The controversial MP said this while addressing supporters of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) at Asokwa, a suburb of Kumasi.

Charlotte Osei is the country’s first female chair of the Electoral Commission, taking over from its long serving chairperson Dr. Afari Gyan. She had previously worked as the head of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE). She was appointed by former President Mahama and sworn in on June 30, 2015.
