Mr Akomea says, contrary to public belief that the NPP did not  call the Assin Central MP to order,  the NPP reprimanded the MP for the comments. “There is no doubt this comment against women is terribly unfortunate,” he said.

Speaking on News File, Nana Akomea said,  “The party has engaged him [Mr Agyepong] in the matter and the party has urged him to do the honourable thing,”

He, however, believes the latest reaction of Mr Agyepong regarding the comment reflect his regret but added, “I wish he would have done the honourable thing to apologise.”
