The police has restored peace to Suhyen after violent chieftaincy clashes.
Calm has been restored to Suhyen in the New Juabeng municipality of the Eastern region following violent chieftaincy clashes Monday evening.
Seven people including, a child sustained severe injuries during the clashes between supporters of two rival chiefs.
The supporters clashed after a visit by the Vice President to one of the chiefs during the National Sanitation Day.
The police were said to have separated the warring factions but failed to make any arrest.
It is not clear yet what triggered the conflict even though the vice president's call on one of the factions is believed to have played a role.
