Fragile calm returns to Bimbilla following clashes

The government on Friday morning deployed a joint security task force made up of the Ghana Armed Forces and the Police to maintain law and order after 10 people were killed and scores injured.

Earlier, there were reports that the death toll has risen to 11 but the Bimbilla Police Commander DSP Benjamin Tetteh disputed it in an interview with Tamale-based Justice FM

“What we have retrieved from the bushes or the battleground and then we sent to the mortuary at the Bimbilla Government Hospital are ten bodies, not eleven,” he said.
