Prez Mahama Accused Of Helping Ministers ‘Chop’ Money

President John Dramani has been accused of aiding his ministers loot money from state coffers.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Asante Akyem North, Kwadwo Baah-Agyemang, has opined that President John Dramani has been aiding his ministers to loot money from state coffers.

The NPP MP, speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem on Monday, said the President has been doing that through subtle attempts in the name of reshuffling.

“When you go to this ministry and you chop money small, then he moves you to another ministry for another person to also come and enjoy some…,” he said.

The President in exercising his constitutional powers, over the weekend reshuffled some of his ministers with ‘arrogant’ Sports Minister, Mahama Ayariga heading to the Science, Technology and Innovation ministry.

Others including former Tepe Senior High School (SHS) Headmaster, Peter Anarfi-Mensah, was brought on board to serve as Ministers.

But these constant reshuffles, the Legislator said, is part of the means of shielding the ministers from accountability.

He continued that being a former MP himself, Mahama knowingly criss-crosses the ministers ‘so that Parliament cannot have the opportunity to invite them for questioning’.

“The moment Parliament decides to call one minister for questioning, you are told the Minister is no longer there and has been moved to another ministry so all malfeasances are covered…,” he said.

He cited the cases of Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, whom he accused of financial embezzlement at the Sports Ministry, to back his claim.
