Goodies Served His Full Prison Time, Was Not Granted Early Release

The Ghana Prisons Service has clarified that ace Music Producer Isaac Abeiku Aidoo popularly known as Goodies was never granted an early release but served his full sentence.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Prisons Service, Courage Atsem, Goodies filed an appeal at an Accra Circuit Court which saw his sentence reduced from 13 years to about 6 years and 8 months.

Atsem told Starr News Goodies was entitled to remission of his full sentence thus his release after serving 6 years and 8 months.The CEO of Goodies Music, was, on November 26, 2008, sentenced to serve 13 years in jail with hard labour by an Accra Circuit Court for possessing 80 pellets of cocaine.The trial judge at the time, Mr. Mahamadu Iddrissu pronounced the sentence after it took the prosecution about six months to gather evidence against the ace Music producer.Goodies was arrested at the Kotoka International Airport on April 23, 2008 on suspicion of possessing narcotic drugs while going through departure formalities to board a flight to London.Before going to prison, Goodies produced a tall list of hiplife artistes including Tic Tac, VIP, Sydney, Lord Kenya, Nana Kwame, Mzbel and a raft of others.He also worked on collaborative projects between some Ghanaian and Nigerian artistes including 2Face and Tony Tetuila.Goodies was released Tuesday December 23, 2014 from the Nsawam prisons, where he spent the past six years with fellow celebrity inmate Ibrahim Sima - CEO of Exopa modeling agency, who died recently after suffering a head injury during a football game within the prison walls.
