NDC executives, MP clash over motorbikes

The angry party members vented their anger to Starr News during the presentation of the motorcycles to the health post.

Some leading members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Binduri in the Upper East region are alleging that their Member of Parliament (MP), Bernard Noah Azure is diverting motorbikes meant for party activities to the local clinic. The angry party members vented their anger to Starr News during the presentation of the motorcycles to the health post. According to them, they were earlier told to come for the motorbikes to execute the party’s campaign ahead of the 2016 elections only to see Noah Azure donating the same items to nurses.

They argue that although the MP is helping the community, it is not his common fund. “The motor is for us, if only the party is [in] power. You can’t …give [them] to the delegates; you are rather giving them to nurses.“Who is going to campaign for 2016? Are the nurses going to vote? However, Honourable Azure reacting to the allegation said he procured the motorbikes to facilitate the movement and the contribution of staff of the Binduri Clinic to health delivery in the community and not for party delegates.“No, no, no. I’ve told them, it is not meant for them. It’s for everybody. I’m an MP for Binduri. It is not that I’m an MP only for NDC, I’m MP for Binduri. These motorcycles should not be for the party.“Like the boreholes I drilled, they are for everybody. Everybody drinks the water. It’s not NPP, it’s not NDC. Every resident of Binduri benefits from it", he remarked.
