Speaking on , the member of the 1992 Ghana team that lost to Ivory Coast in the Nations Cup finals said Appiah having played for big clubs is capable of impacting positively on soccer teams.

“Stephen is somebody who is fortunate because he has played with a lot of big clubs. I told him go back to Juventus, look at the structure, look at their youth football, look into management, look into administration and the take a decision. And I believe he can add a lot to football especially grassroots development,” he said.

Adding: “There is no elevator to success after life after football; you have to take the stairs. You have to plan for the future. And I think it is very important you study as well as know the practical. It is always important; you need good people around you. Sammy Kufour is a good example. He didn’t go to school but he was determined so he went to the University of life.”
