The reported cell break of two suspected criminals has triggered fear within the Tepa community in the Ashanti Region.

Some residents who claim to be easy targets of these escaped suspects are demanding that the police re-arrest the suspects.

According to the residents, their fear is borne out of the fact that the two criminals who escaped might stage reprisal attacks; something they fear the Police there can’t control.

For the residents the Police should be held accountable for the incident considering the circumstances.

Some of the residents who spoke to Citi FM said they said are disappointment in the Police personnel in the area.

“According to them the Police at the station are not up to task as expected since crime is really high in the community and ask that the Police personnel who were on duty that day be questioned with the law,”

A resident indicated that “the operations of the Police here make us feel unsecured, we do not feel comfortable at all. They did not do their work well, if they did two people wouldn’t have escaped, because the escapees can come and harm us.”

The police have assured that the escaped suspects will be rearrested.
