NPP youth holds party headquarters to ransom

Some irate youth of the NPP besieged the party's headquarters and have declared coup against the national leaders.

Recent events occurring within the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) though not surprising are a yet another clear sign of a division in the party.

Some aggrieved youth of the party have declared a ‘coup’ against the party’s chairman Paul Afoko and general secretary Kwabena Agyepong. Read more

The irate youth led by one Dennis Ahmed in a statement read at the party's headquarters, Thursday, said they no longer need the leadership of Afoko and Agyepong.

This comes at the back of the death its Upper East regional Chairman, Mahama Adams who was bathed with an acid by two unidentified men last night.

Adam had been fighting for his life in the hospital after two assailants stopped his car whilst he was about entering his house midnight on Wednesday and poured the corrosive substance on his face and entire body. Read more 

The chairman was returning from his construction site late in the night when the two unknown men stopped him.

Some members of the party suspect the attack was masterminded by the national chairman. Read more
