Explosion at quarry site injures 13

The blast, which occurred Wednesday evening, collapsed several buildings in the community and destroyed lots of property worth thousands of Ghana cedis.

About thirteen people have sustained  serious injuries after an explosion at an abandoned quarry site in Paebo in the Nsawam Adoagyiri Municipality of the Eastern region.

A resident at the community, Bruce Kpakpoe told GTV News the injured are receiving treatment at the Nsawam Government Hospital.

It is unclear what caused the explosion.

But reports suggest that some explosives which might have been left behind by the Company which used to operate the site might have been the cause.
