Gbagbo, who appeared before the Odumase Krobo Circuit Court, has been remanded in prison custody to reappear on October 28, 2015.
Assistant Superintendent of Police, (ASP) Richmond Akwasi Yeboah, told the court, presided over by Mr Frank Gbeddy that on September 20, 2015, Gbagbo was caught with 20 parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp in his travelling bag which he was taking to Kumasi on board a Metro Mass Transit bus for sale on campus.

ASP Yeboah said when the bus in which Gbagbo was travelling got to the Senchi Ferry Site, policemen on duty conducted a search on the bus and found the 20 parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp concealed in a bag.
Gbagbo, who claimed ownership of the bag and its content, was immediately arrested. He, however, pleaded with the police to set him free.
ASP Yeboah said during further investigations, Gbagbo stated that he bought the items from Alavanyo in the Volta Region but declined to lead the police to the source.

The prosecutor said the exhibits would be forwarded to the Police Forensic laboratory in Accra for examination.
