Many businesses have been badly hit by the current erratic power supply in Ghana. Some companies have laid off hundreds of their workers due to high production cost following the power crisis.

“Because a lot of businesses are folding up, church members do not get offertory and tithe for the church. This has brought untold hardship to churches and many Ghanaians. Aside that, anytime there is power failure, members feel reluctant to attend church because they have no power to iron their clothes. I have also noticed that many Christians feel embarrassed when they come to church and cannot give offertory. Due to this, a lot of them would rather be absent”, the Evangelist said on Atinka FM.

Kumchacha also stated that buying fuel from the little monies they have got to generate electricity for service has affected the finances of the churches. He has therefore called on government to take pragmatic efforts to solve the energy crisis tormenting the life of Ghanaians.
