A 25-year-old man on Tuesday butchered a 17-year-old student of the Hwereso Junior High School near Ejisu in the Ashanti Region after allegedly raping her in front of her mother and grandmother.

The man, Adongo Akanyire Azure, who also inflicted machete wounds on the deceased’s mother, later committed suicide at the Boankra Inland Port by allegedly drinking a poisonous substance.

Narrating the incident to Daily Graphic, the Ejisu Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Laear Baman, said the police had a distress call around 12 midnight on Monday about the incident.

The victim’s mother told the police that they were in their room when Azure broke in holding a machete, a knife and a hammer, demanding that he sleeps with the victim.

Azure later threatened that he will kill everybody in the house if the girl refused to sleep with him.

The victim, out of fear, offered herself to the man. The man, after having sex with the victim, used the machete to cut between the breasts of the young lady, killing her instantly.

He later asked the victim's mother and the grandmother in the room to turn and face the window, after which he started inflicting knife wounds on the mother of the deceased.

The mother however managed to escape and started shouting for help, which drew a number of people to the scene.

Azure fled upon seeing the people rushing to the scene.

The police later found Azure dead at the Boankra Inland Port, with some whitish foam emanating from his nose and mouth, which the Police suspect might be from a poisonous substance.
