The Assembly Members met today at the Trade Union Congress hall to elect a Presiding Member. They have failed to elect a Presiding Member due to an entrenched position taken by the two contestants and their supporters. The two contestants are Assembly Member for Suame, Nana Kofi Senya and the Adumhene Nana Baffour Agyei Kesse, who is a government appointee.

However, the Adumhene has stepped down for Senya, but he would still need two third of the votes to be confirmed.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, who is acting as the Mayor of the KMA, is expected to preside over the meeting. He said only Assembly Members would be allowed to enter the hall.
