Govt declares Friday National Holiday

A statement signed by the Deputy Interior Minister James Agalga, said Friday has been declared holiday to mark the annual Farmers’ Day.

Government has declared Friday December 4, 2015 a public holiday.

“December 4, 2015 is Farmers’ Day, a statutory Public Holiday and must be observed as such throughout the country,” the statement said.

This year's National Farmers Day Celebration will be held in the Upper East Regional.

The National Farmers Day is commemorated each year on the first Friday of December to honour Farmers and Fishers in the country.

Farmers and fishers who demonstrate best practices and outputs are awarded at open gatherings organized in the ten regions across Ghana.
