Residents of Sakumono flats were left in shock earlier today when fire swept through one of the rooms, burning everything except three Bibles, which were left pretty much intact despite the raging fire.

The fire started around 2pm Sunday and lasted a little over an hour before being extinguished.

No injuries were recorded as the occupants were absent at the time of the fire.

The three Bibles were retrieved from the fire after it was brought under control.

It is still unclear what caused the inferno.

An eyewitness disclosed that the fire service delayed in responding hence the neighbours helped bring the fire under control before they arrived.

About four fire trucks were used to extinguish the fire.
