President Mahama has removed the Commissioner for Human Rights and Administrative Justice, Lauretta Vivian Lamptey from office.

Mahama sacks CHRAJ boss, Lauretta Lamptey
In January, 2015 the Commissioner was suspended by Mahama following the establishment of a prima facie case against her by the Chief Justice.

A source close to the presidency said President Mahama removed her in accordance with Article 146(9) after accepting the recommendations of a Committee set up by the Chief Justice to investigate allegations of corruption and misappropriation of public funds.
The committee following a petition submitted against Madam Lamptey concluded that the former CHRAJ boss was unfit to hold the position of Commissioner for Human Rights and Administrative Justice.

Ms Lamptey was accused of spending about 200,000 dollars on rent at the AU Village and about 180, 000 cedis on the renovation of her official residence
Meanwhile, an official statement on her removal from office is expected to be released on Thursday.
