This round of funding will help them conclude an ongoing study that will evaluate the economic impact of its systems.
The Chinese Internet portal- Tencent's investment in Tissue Analytics is worth $750,000.
Co-founder of Tissue Analytics, Kevin Keenahan said “We are a wound imaging and telehealth company, predominantly. So we look at a very small sub-set of medicine called chronic wounds,.”
Adding that this round of funding will help them conclude an ongoing study that will evaluate the economic impact of its systems.
This study, keenahan said, will help Tissue Analytics determine total wound healing time, the rate of wound closure, infection rates, amputation rates, and healthcare expenditures, among many other indices.
Simply put, what the technology does, is to collect accurate wound data through smartphone snapshots for doctors to ascertain what level of care the wound requires.
