Parliament approves ‘dining hall’ Minister

Deputy Minister-designate for Water Resources, Works & Housing, Kwabena Mintah-Akandoh

Parliament has approved Kwabena Mintah Akandoh as Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources.

Mr. Akandoh had a tough time defending the inclusion of the position as dining hall prefect he held in Secondary School as work experience during his vetting.

He explained that it was a work experience, “not in the strict sense of being remunerated but whatever I have done before, that is why I included that but if the committee thinks I should correct that I will humbly do so”.

The Appointment Committee advised him to delete it from his Curriculum Vitae (CV) since it could not be considered as a work experience. The Member of Parliament for Juaboso also had it on his CV that he was a mathematics teacher.

Others who have been approved are: Mr Peter Anarfi-Mensah [Ashanti Regional Minister], Samuel Yaw Adusei [Deputy Minister for Water Resources, Works and Housing] and Kenneth Gilbert Adjei [Deputy Minister for Defense].
