Manchester United agree Memphis Depay deal for 22M

PSV boss Phillip Cocu to made the announcement to PSV’s squad at training, and Depay was congratulated by his team mates for sealing  his move to Old Trafford.

 

The news is going round like wildfire on Thursday morning around Dutch news outlets: Manchester United have reached an agreement with PSV to sign Memphis Depay.

The news was first broken by Voetbal International’s @thijsslegers on his Twitter page.

According to the reporter, PSV boss Phillip Cocu to made the announcement to PSV’s squad at training, and Depay was congratulated by his team mates for sealing  his move to Old Trafford.

Overnight on Wednesday, Dutch media outlet AD.nl have reported on Thursday that 21-year-old Oranje international Depay has opened talks with Man United over his €25 million move from PSV.

AD.nl noted that Depay has previously held talks with Liverpool and PSG about a possible move to either Anfield or the Parc de Princes.

AD.nl also reported that Louis van Gaal has now spoken to Depay too, and the underlying belief is that the Red Devils are favourites to land the sought-after striker.

One of the hottest properties in Europe, Depay has been in stellar form this season, helping PSV win the Eredivisie with 21 goals in 28 games.
