Demolish all buildings on water ways – Agyinasare

His comments came in the wake of the over 200 lives consumed in the GOIL filling station explosion and flood last Wednesday following a heavy downpour in Ghana’s capital Accra.

The founder of Perez Chapel International (PCI) Bishop Charles Agyinasare is urging city authorities to demolish all buildings in water ways to prevent Accra from flooding during rainy seasons.

According to him, government should demolish all buildings on water ways and also prosecute people who sell lands on water ways if it wants to deal with the perennial flooding and its effects.

“This is the time that the authorities should also break down buildings on water ways. Everybody has seen how this disaster of this rain has wreaked havoc. This is an opportunity for the authorities to do what they must do.

“This is the time that the approval agencies must stop registering lands in water ways because nobody can build on water ways except it has been approved and has been given permission”, he said during a Sunday sermon.

He has however cautioned property owners whose properties are in water ways to desist from selling the properties.

Bishop Agyinasare also called on Ghanaians to take the monthly clean up exercise seriously and advised that they stop throwing waste in drains.
