In an interview with Pulse.com.gh, the Head of Communications at the FDA, James Lartey said his outfit stormed the factory following complaints from residents in the area that their homes were being infested with the weevils.

“Last week we closed their warehouse where the flour was being kept. And then we gave them a letter on Friday that is effective this Monday, they should stop all production and that they should make sure they deal with the weevil infestation and then the flour that is infested with the weevils, they should make an arrangement with the AMA. Food and Drugs, we will come and supervise the destruction of all the flour,” he said.
