Seeking justice for deceased Mahama is irreversible – Sammy Awuku

According to Mr. Awuku, the act is “despicable” and the party will not shield anyone found guilty of it

 

National Youth Organiser of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Awuku says the party will not treat the murder of Upper East regional chairman, Adams Mahama as a party issue.

Mr. Mahama was confirmed dead at the Bolgatanga regional hospital after he was showered with acid by two unidentified men on Wednesday evening.

According to Mr. Awuku, the act is “despicable” and the party will not shield anyone found guilty of it.

“What has happened is despicable. We are treating it as a criminal matter. A life has been lost. Not just a life, but the life of a regional chairman. This is not time to point accusing fingers. However, everybody should be prepared and willing to cooperate with the police. We will not treat this as a party issue. Seeking justice for Adams is irreversible”, he said on Asempa FM’s

Mr. Awuku cautioned party members to be mindful of their comments regarding the issue.

“If emotions are high, it is difficult for hearts to cool down…people should be extremely measured in their comments so they do not damage the image of the party nor inflame anger”, he advised.
